803 Day
803 Day is designed to create awareness and support for local businesses and organizations while encouraging residents and visitors to get out, get moving, and explore our great city.
The celebration is a play on our area code and the date August 3rd. Many cities have their own representative day, including Atlanta’s 404 Day on April 4th, Miami’s 305 Day on March 5th, and Birmingham’s 205 Day on February 5th. Now the Midlands has 803 Day!The 3rd annual 803 Day Celebration will be a weekend long experience on July 31 - August 3, 2026.

SC HBCU 5K Run/Walk
SC HBCU Alumni Alliance was established in 2023 as a collaborative initiative to bring together local HBCU alumni chapters of our great 107 HBCU institutions. Although South Carolina has eight HBCUs, there are alumni from other HBCUs who would like to network and create opportunities for socials, education, scholarship, and fundraising.
The premise of the Alliance is to serve as a hub to connect us with events and initiatives that align with the principles of our HBCUs. We encourage all South Carolina alumni groups to include their information, and let us know how we may support them.
Our signature event is the SC HBCU 5K. The 3rd annual SC HBCU 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026.
